Like I said before, I do understand everyone's concerns for my safety. In lieu of that, I encourage you all to pray for me. Pray that either God will lead me back on the right track, on the straight and narrow path, or that He will keep us all safe on this journey, and that we'll all have a great experience there that we can tell you all about when we get back. Feel free to bring us up in your prayer lines and prayer meetings if you feel inclined to.

What's the plan/timeline for this trip?

Here's what the current plan for this trip is:

• Today (the day I send you all this): Eryk will pick me up and drive me down to Georgia where Sonder lives.
• We'll be spending the next few days hanging out, going around his town, etc.
• Next Sunday (10/20/2024): Sonder and I will be driving to Tennesee for the feast
• Next Sunday (10/20/2024) through next Saturday (10/27/2024): We'll be at the feast

I will be sure to try and make sure to send you all photos and videos of what's going on. My new phone should make the photos look nice and crisp (thanks, Dad!).

Why Signal? That seems excessive...

I'm opting to use Signal because it will guarantee that everyone will be able to actually see the media that I send. Besides, Yijun and Mom aren't using RCS (at least, as of the time of writing), which would allow me to send you all high quality media without it getting compressed as heavily due to the strict limits on media with SMS and MMS. Yes, enabling RCS should be relatively easy (Yijun just needs to get Google Messages and make sure that RCS is enabled, and Mom just needs to update to iOS 18 and turn on RCS), but this is the simplest way to guarantee those features. You all are free to forward the media that I send to you all over to others if you all want to, or add others to the group chat that are on Signal, too.
